Explore what to do on Lošinj...
Cycling and hiking
Biking and hiking are great ways to explore the island and enjoy the outdoors. Lošinj offers various hiking and biking trails that meander through picturesque landscapes, forests and along the coast. Photographs do not do justice to the beauty of many of these trails, which is why it would be best to explore them.
We recommend Via Apsyrtides, the historical trails that connect the northern and southern parts of the Cres-Lošinj archipelago.
The marked trails range from family-oriented to more challenging ones, while hikers can walk carefreely since there are no venomous snakes on Lošinj. But that’s another story...just ask us, we’ll be happy to tell you.
Watching, researching and even adopting dolphins
Lošinj is famous for researching these fascinating sea creatures. The island is home to the Blue World Institute, whose main goal is the preservation of the sea and the protection of marine mammals. You can join the “Adopt a Dolphin” programme, or just visit and observe them during a boat excursion.
Exploring culture and history
Visitors can explore the rich cultural heritage by visiting museums, galleries and historical sites. The storied history of the island or nearby Osor fascinates all generations. Make sure to visit the Museum of Apoxyomenos, one of the biggest Croatian tourist attractions, or the Nerezinac Lugger Maritime Heritage Interpretation Centre, which is the only remaining cargo ship and is over a 100 years old.
The charming architecture of Mali Lošinj also provides an authentic experience. Explore it on your own or on tourist tours.
Beaches
The highly indented coastline Lošinj Island is dotted with numerous bays and gorgeous beaches surrounded by the clear turquoise sea. Add to that the natural shade of the pine trees that grow right above the beaches and you have the perfect conditions for all-day enjoyment. In addition to swimming, Lošinj beaches offer various other water sports, such as diving, snorkelling, windsurfing and rowing.
Dog-friendly beaches
Pets are welcome on our island. They have their own beaches on Lošinj, which are equipped with buckets, and even showers, like the ones at Lopara Camping Resort and Rapoća Camping Village.
