Along the coastline, you will find some supreme spots for windsurfing. One of them is located at the Lopari camp, where winds are not too strong but blow on most days. Grab the board (or rent one in our shop at the beach), catch the wind in your sail, and zigzag your way to some fun on the sea.
There is no need to travel far, as camps’ pebble beaches are beautiful spots for swimming, sunbathing and spending a family day in the sun. A variety of water sports and activities, windsurfing, and SUP boarding, as well as beach bar offering refreshments and snacks, mean you can just relax and enjoy.
If you wish to explore some other spots during your stay, you can visit many secluded or public beaches of Lošinj and Cres by car or by boat.
A favourite island of nature enthusiasts and outdoorsy types offers many opportunities to stretch your legs and go for a walk in the countryside. We will mention two of the best ones.
Mountain Osoršćica is crisscrossed with hiking trails, starting just across the entrance to the camp. Depending on which trail you choose, you can reach the Televrin peak and get the stamp that proves the feat, see the stone chapel of St. Nicholas, or find refreshment in the tavern occupying the site of the former military outpost that once guarded these waters. All three landmarks will reward your efforts with a spectacular panoramic view.
Lubenice to Lubenice beach — Perched on a cliff, 400 meters above the sea, small, desolated and beautiful village of Lubenice is a landmark in its own right. According to the legend, its name (which could be translated into English as “lovers”) is a tragic testament to forbidden love, as two lovers decided to jump off the cliff into their deaths, rather than be apart.
After enjoying a stroll through the village and the view of the surroundings, take a walk, descending from Lubenice to one of the most beautiful secluded beaches on the island. Be careful to not get sunburned while enjoying it though, as you will need to reserve a bit of strength for the one-hour hike back to your vehicle. Still, this day trip is absolutely worth it.
Large enough to fill your soul with exploration, yet small enough so you can traverse it lengthwise during your vacation, Lošinj begs to be discovered by bicycle. It has been recognized as such by enthusiasts and professionals alike, being a part of a famous 4 Islands MTB Stage Race, as well as a stop on many excursions.
The variety of the terrain and scenery you will pass through during your travels makes each trip especially interesting. From conquering mountain paths to easy riding along the shore, uphill and downhill across bike trails and wild paths, each trip is going to be a unique experience.
